The Inkvasion Will Be 3spoopy5u
Launching a site after a bajillion years. Partially because as a technology perfessional (admittedly outside of webdev), I should probably keep a tentacle in the game. Mostly because digging through my NAS when I want to show someone something is annoying, compared to simply sending a link. I’ve a bit of a backlog of things I should probably document and post… that I’ll probably ignore as I spend most of my present time prettying up a massive set of Hextech streets.
Since it’s September 1st and calcium is nigh, we’re going to take a little trip to sometime last year, when I found myself in Target, which was the style at the time…
Improving the Flow of Good Calciums
I don’t often browse the super-cheap demi-aisles of Target, apparently known as Bullseye’s Playground, but on this occasion, I found an interesting little pack of skulls that would possibly be suitable for exaggerated terrain. Okay, I actually bought them just because they were an interesting little pack of skulls. Unfortunately, I didn’t bother to take before and after photos, but I managed to find the goods on eBay:

The paint job was… Look, we’re talking like $2 worth of cheap Halloween decorations. Still, from behind the plastic wrap, the skulls sang to me, serenading promises of strong bones, good calcium, and painting practice.
I didn’t think to record the steps I took in painting these, so this is roughly from memory, but:
- Zenithal prime
- Some random Vallejo MC brown
- Some random Games Workshop darker yellow - Tallarn Sand, if I recall correctly
- Reaper MSP Bone Colors (Bone Shadow/Aged Bone/Polished Bone)
- …All mostly sponged on in various semi-random layers
- Vallejo MC black in the sockets
- Nuln oil in the sockets
- A 1:1 of Agrax Earthshade and Reikland Fleshshade everywhere

A decent bit of improvement, I dare say.
And as an early Halloween treat, here’s a shot taken while I was trying to get fancy what with a black background and black acrylic sheet, like all the cool kids are doing these days:
